The Things to do page and the What’s On page are the fuller lists. Hours, classes and booking rules change, so confirm with the organiser before you travel.
A village starting point: library and community centre
Forest Row Community Centre is on Hartfield Road. Forest Row Parish Council lists the same address, RH18 5DZ, and uses the building for parish and community bookings. East Sussex County Council places Forest Row Library inside that community centre.
The county library page lists books, computers, free Wi-Fi, accessible toilets, baby changing, parking and a returns dropbox. Friday sessions are volunteer-led, and the council says printing is not available on those days. Treat the library page as the live source for opening times. If you only need a quiet indoor stop with children, this is one of the simplest official options in the village.
Outdoor time
East Sussex County Council describes Forest Way Country Park as a roughly ten-mile former railway route between East Grinstead and Groombridge, passing Forest Row. The Walks page is the place for route notes. For families, the useful point is simpler: it is a shared path, not a mountain hike, and it starts from the village. Check the official Forest Way page for toilets, path condition and shared-use etiquette before you set off with bikes or scooters.
Tablehurst Farm Shop and Cafe is on London Road. Tablehurst’s own site describes a community-owned biodynamic and organic farm with a shop, a butcher’s counter and a cafe. The farm also lists workshops and events on its site. That can be a calmer half-day than a long walk, but farm days and cafe days are not the same every week. Confirm on the farm site or the listing before you go.
Water, classes and groups
Weir Wood Sport and Leisure is at Weir Wood Reservoir, Forest Row, RH18 5HT. The official site describes sailing, paddlesports, craft hire, pedalos and youth sailing training on a Southern Water reservoir that it also describes as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Family and youth membership pages say under-18s need adult supervision and that age limits vary by activity. Confirm booking, weather limits and what is open that day on weirwood.co.uk.
Warrior Arts and Fitness is at Riverview Business Park. The listing and the gym’s own site describe Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Kali, kettlebells, kids’ classes and self-defence courses. Class times move, so use the official site for the current timetable.
1st Forest Row Scout Group is a registered charity. The Charity Commission lists the Scout Hut on Station Road, RH18 5DW, and names forestrowscouts.org.uk as the group website. The Scout Association page for 1st Forest Row lists Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and gives the same Station Road hut. Meeting nights can change, so ask the group directly before you go.
The monthly Forest Row Market, listed by Forest Row Parish Council on the first Saturday from March to December, is another family-facing village date. The parish page calls it a place to bring the family. Confirm the next date and pitch location on the council market page or the What’s On page before you go.
