If you live in Forest Row, or you run a business here, Forest Row Live is the Facebook group most people use as a village noticeboard. Residents post dates. Shops and organisers post openings, menus and offers. Neighbours ask for a recommendation and others reply with a name they actually use.
It is a Facebook group, not a Forest Row Guide page, and it is not run from this website. The group address is facebook.com/groups/forestrowlive. You need a Facebook account to read the posts and to join.

How the guide uses the group
Forest Row Guide reads Forest Row Live when looking for dated events and new local businesses. When a post has enough facts to list, those facts are added to the guide. Event pages include a “See the original Facebook post” link so you can go back to the source. The guide does not copy the whole thread. It records the date, the place and the organiser details that can be checked.
That is why a What’s On card on this site often points back to a Forest Row Live post. The group is the noticeboard. The guide is the dated list you can browse without scrolling Facebook.
How to join
Open the group on Facebook and use Facebook’s own join control. You will need to be signed in. If Facebook asks you to wait, wait. Once you are in, you can read posts and add your own.

What is good to post
Clear facts help neighbours, and they help the guide pick up a date without guessing.
If you are sharing an event, write the name of the event, the day and date, the time if you know it, the venue, and how to book or who to message. If tickets have a price, say so. If children are welcome, say so. If you only have a Facebook event link, include that.
If you are sharing a new business, write the trading name, what they do, and a website, phone number or Facebook page that can be checked. A village and a street help. Do not invent a phone number or a site.
If you are sharing an offer, say what it is and when it ends. If a detail is missing, say so rather than filling the gap. The guide will not invent a time, a price or a contact to complete a listing.
What the guide will not do
Listing a post here does not mean Forest Row Guide recommends the event or the business. It means the facts were public and could be checked. If something on a listing is wrong, use Update a listing or Contact.
If you would rather send a date or a business straight to the guide, you can also use Suggest a place. Forest Row Live remains the busiest public place for village news. Joining it is the simplest way to see what neighbours are already talking about.
