Forest Row’s current community composting project is The Soil Factory. The official site is thesoilfactory.earth. Members collect kitchen scraps, drop them at a coded station, and later collect a share of finished compost.

The station sits in the Forest Row Community Centre car park, toward the Jubilee Gardens entrance. The Soil Factory says it is open 24 hours for members.

Accepted scraps listed on the official how-it-works page include fruit and vegetable peelings, tea and coffee, eggshells, small amounts of meat, fish and dairy, bread, pasta and plate scrapings. Plastic and liquids stay out.

Membership is paid, with household and business tiers. First harvests of Living Soil are listed for spring 2026. Email hello@thesoilfactory.earth to join.
