The Eat and Drink page is the fuller food list. Hours, menus and prices change, so confirm with the business before you go.

Coffee around The Square and Lower Square

Java and Jazz sits in The Square on Lewes Road. Its own site describes an independent pizzeria and cafe that grew from a small cafe with a pizza oven in the late 1990s. It says it offers morning coffee through breakfast, lunch and dinner. Use the listing for the address and official site, then confirm opening times there.

A short walk away, HUP! Cafe is on Lower Square. It serves freshly roasted coffee from Lindfield Coffee Works, drawn on a Gaggia, plus cold drinks, locally sourced cakes and Forest Row-made sausage rolls. It also says guests can sit with a laptop and are not rushed. The listing has the Lower Square address and a link to that official page so you can check current days.

Emilio’s Coffee is listed among Forest Row cafes at The Bazaar on Hillside. The Bazaar is a community hub with a cafe plus vintage, gifts, plants, art and independent stalls. Use the Google profile for directions and opening times, and confirm on the door before you go.

Coco’s Forest Row is on Hillside. The cafe’s own site presents it as a village cafe for coffee, tea and homemade food, including cooked breakfasts, soups, fresh bakes, organic coffee and speciality teas, with gluten-free and dairy-free choices noted on the menu. Check the official site for what is being served that day.

Farm and college cafes

If you want a cafe with space to sit longer, two places sit just outside the shop row.

Tablehurst Farm Shop and Cafe is on London Road. Tablehurst’s own site describes a community-owned biodynamic and organic farm with a farm shop, a butcher’s counter and a cafe. It also says cafe customers can use the cafe garden in all seasons. The farm lists regular cafe days on its homepage. Treat those as a starting point only and confirm before you travel, especially around bank holidays.

Emerson College Café is in Pixton Manor on Hartfield Road. It is open to the public as well as to the college community, with organic teas and coffees, house-made or local snacks, soup and cakes, free Wi-Fi, and a patio overlooking biodynamic gardens. Dogs are welcome on the patio, not inside, and should stay on a lead on the campus. Confirm hours on the college page before you go.

A bakery stop and a Tuesday community cafe

Cyrnel Bakery is on Lower Road. Its own site says the bakery was founded in 1974 and is now run by Sam and Matt Smith. It sells organic sourdough and other breads, sweet treats and breakfast items, with online ordering for click and collect. This is a bakery more than a sit-down cafe, but it is a useful village stop when you want something baked to take away.

Forest Row Parish Churches list a Community Cafe on Tuesdays at St Dunstan’s Hall. It runs from noon to 1.30pm and is cash only. Treat this as a community listing, not a commercial restaurant. Check the parish events page before you go, because community sessions can pause.

If you also want lunch or a farm stop

Start with Eat and Drink for pubs, restaurants and farm food as well as cafes. Maria’s Cafe at Blenheim Studio is a breakfast or lunch stop away from The Square. Confirm hours with the business before you go.

If a cafe has moved, closed or been missed, send a correction through Update a listing or Contact.
